A PERSONAL WORD

FROM THE PASTOR

For those who are concerned about healthcare reform and what it will do to your insurance.  Here’s a possibility.

A man went on a ski trip and was knocked unconscious by the chairlift when he forgot to duck.  He called his insurance company from the hospital and explained what happened, and they refused to cover his injury.

“Why is the injury not covered?” he asked.

The agent responded, “You got hit in the head by a chairlift, is that right?”

            “Yes,” the patient answered.

“The agent explained further, “That makes you an idiot, and we consider that a pre-existing condition!”

Now I’m not suggesting the church is comprised of idiots.  So don’t take offense.  But I do see a lot of ignorance among some people in the church.  Some Christians believe it’s okay to be ignorant about God’s Word.

A number of ways exist to combat this kind of ignorance.  One of those ways is Sunday School.  Sunday School at FBC Vincent is dominated by Bible study. Quality teachers, inquiring learners, and open Bibles will greet you in any class you attend here.

Fight Bible Ignorance!  Make 9:45 am on Sundays a priority time where you gather with others to learn from the Lord.

Be in your place Sunday for a word from the Lord.
