Message Truth: Faith is a settled attitude that leads to continual action.
Review Romans 8:28 – All things work for good
1. Does not equal my expected outcome. Trust the big picture.
2.Because God is good
3.Who love God and live for Gods purpose.
2.The Reasons We ask Why:
- It disturbs the orderliness of life. – we think we live in an ordered universe where everything makes sense. Because we have access to so much information
- To prevent the repetition of pain. – If this could happen to Job it could happen to them, Job you must have done something.
- We seek moral equalization. – This is the why me? Why not someone else.
- To vindicate God. – This is called a theodicy- we must get God off the hook.
3.What Now? The Power of Faith
- Faith is an Affirmation – we are affirming that everything is true.
- Faith is an Attitude – we have a settled disposition that we can trust God no matter what.
- Faith is Continual Action – whatever action God tells us to take from His Word, we will do it.
