Message Text: Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders us and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
Message Truth: The Bible describes this life as a race, but we all must run our own race.
1.Run as FREELY as You Can (v.1)
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, v.1
- Unbelief- is the root of many sins. We just don’t believe Gods way is the best way.
2.Run as FOCUSED as You Can (v.2) fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith…
- It means to gaze upon – What gets our attention will eventually master us.
3.Run as FAITHFULLY as You Can (v.2) For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
- Faith gets your started, but faithfulness determines how much you encounter God in your life.
Takeaway: You must jump in the arms of Jesus and watch we he can do in your life.
