Message Truth: Our purpose is to reflect God and not rival Him.
- God’s Kingdom
The Problem– 2 opposing Kingdoms
Kingdom – The Kingdom of God is where God rules (A kingdom involves a place, purpose and a people)
The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules overall.” Psalm 103:20
- Satan’s Kingdom
- Our Kingdom
The Solution: Humility – “Humble yourself under the mighty hand of God and he will lift you up” 1 Peter 5:6
“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added unto you.” Matthew 6:33
2. God’s Power
The Problem – Our Power (Control) We doubt what we cannot see, and we fear what we cannot control.
God has spoken once, twice have I heard this, Power belongs to God” Psalm 62:11
- authority – right to do it
- power – ability to pull it off.
For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? 1 Cor. 4:7
The Solution: Surrender – Control is related to commitment, but surrender is what God is looking for.
3. God’s Glory
The Problem: Our Glory (recognition)
- Ascribed Glory- given to people, like a judge.
- Inscribed Glory – something you already have.
We beheld his Glory, the glory of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14
The Solution: Faith -you see something bigger than you.
