Message Title: The Kingdom of God
Message Truth: We enter the Kingdom through Faith in Christ we experience the Kingdom through Surrender to Christ.
Message Text: “Seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33
1.“Seek first the Kingdom of God” means the Kingdom is our #1 PRIORITY.
The reason we don’t see more of God is that we are trying to impose our kingdom on him.
Kingdom means rule and authority, Heaven entering History.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who live in it. For He has founded it upon the seas. And established it upon the rivers.” Psalm 24:1
The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.” Psalm 103:19
2.“His righteousness” means being like Jesus is #1 PURSUIT.
The key is aligning yourself under the rule and authority of the King.
We fear the life we might lose instead of receiving the life the King can give us here and now.
3.“and All these things will be given you.” means is provision is Jesus #1 PROMISE.
The Greek word translated as “shall be added” works a lot like the English “to hand over.” So as you and I seek His Kingdom first, all these things that we need and desire, will be handed over to us. If we are taking care of God’s business as a priority, then He will take care of our business as promised.
The Selfie Room
- People go in this room and inspect and admire their body.
- What are they comparing themselves to?
- What are we comparing ourselves to?
- God took a selfie, its Jesus…When the Ester story becomes your Ester experience you are starting to begin to understand the Kingdom of God.
- Without surrender you can be a rebellious kid in the house or rebellious culture in the house.
- We bring the old ways in to the new house
- 1 billion dollars of gift cards go unused – conditional will =prayer and obedience
- Unconditional just going to happen
- God can get his will done with or without you – I don’t want God to skip me
- Like a drunk
- Lords Prayer: The Paternity He’s Daddy Father, Program – His Rule, The Priority His Will , The Provision- daily bread,
- Only God is my source – everything else is a resource
The promise is that ‘all these things’ will be added to you.
What others may hope to achieve through hard work and chance, you can be guaranteed of by way of a promise. We can know that every other issue, concern and need will be met and provided for from the One who never breaks His promises. The things we need can flow out of the promise we have.
You don’t need to look for them, you don’t need to pursue them and you don’t need to hunt them down, they will simply come to you. They will be added. One blessing on top of another. The blessings and the favour of God coming to you without you needing to worry or concern yourself about it – that is what you can expect.
